Bursor & Fisher Appointed Interim Class Counsel In Welspun Egyptian Cotton Litigation

On January 27, 2017, Judge Richard J. Sullivan of the Southern District of New York appointed Bursor & Fisher, P.A. as interim class counsel in In re Welspun Litigation, a nationwide consumer class action against Welspun. The lawsuit alleges that Welspun falsely represented its linen products as “100% Egyptian Cotton,” when in fact these products are not made from 100% Egyptian Cotton.

Judge Sullivan appointed Bursor & Fisher as the sole interim class counsel, rejecting a competing application from a coalition of four law firms. Judge Sullivan found that Bursor & Fisher “would better represent Plaintiffs’ interests due to the waste and inefficiency likely to result from .. [a] convoluted multi-firm structure.”
