Bursor & Fisher Wins Summary Judgment Against Holiday Cruise Line
On December 9, 2019, Judge Harry D. Lieneweber of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted Plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment against Holiday Cruise Line for violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by making prerecorded calls to class members in the state of Illinois without prior consent.
“Judge Lienenweber’s order granting Plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment is a huge victory for the plaintiffs and class members, who are now entitled to $1,500 per call received from the defendant said Yitzchak Kopel, one of the firm’s partners handling the matter. “We are particularly pleased that we were able to prove the certified class’s claims on summary judgment, meaning that we won this case without even the need for a trial.
