Payment Sent to Golden Entertainment Class Members
On August 10, 2021, payments were sent to class members as part of the $4.55 million settlement in Miranda, et al. v. Golden Entertainment (NV), Inc. The settlement was approved by Judge Andrew P. Gordon of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada on May 12, 2021, and provides to class members (i) up to $200 in documented, out-of-pocket expenses stemming from the data breach (up to $250,000 in the aggregate), (ii) up to $45 in undocumented lost time dealing with the data breach (no aggregate cap), and (iii) one free year of “Identity Guard Total powered by IBM Watson” credit monitoring, including a $1 million AIG insurance policy for losses from data breach.
“We are thrilled that the settlement proceeds are being distributed,” said Yitzchak Kopel, one of the firm’s partners handling the matter. “This is a terrific result — especially in the challenging area of data breach litigation — that will put real money into the pockets of Golden Entertainment consumers and employees.”
